About
Varium

If you are here, this means you are caring about responsible consumption just like we do!

It’s not a secret that within mass production of plastic, which began six decades ago, has accelerated so rapidly that it has created 8.3 billion metric tons – most of it in disposable products that end up as trash. Of the 8.3 billion metric tons that has been produced, 6.3 billion metric tons has become plastic waste. Of that, only 9% has been recycled. The vast majority – 79% - is accumulating in landfills or sloughing off in the natural environment as litter. Meaning: at some point, much of it ends up in the oceans, the final sink. Plastic takes more than 400 years to degrade, so most of it still exists in some form. Only 12% has been incinerated.

If present trends continue, by 2050 (only in 25 years!), there will be 12 billion metric tons of plastic in landfills. It means, that then your today’s babies are 25-30 years old, the planet is non-returnable polluted and your children have no choice but continue living on this planet.

Gaining control of plastic waste is now such a large task that it calls for a comprehensive, global approach that involves rethinking plastic chemistry, product design, recycling strategies, and consumer use.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding – we are not against plastic, indeed without plastic many industries would not exist in the shape we see them now. BUT its crucially important which plastic we use – recycled or not, biodegradable or not, can we decrease plastic consumption where possible and become more responsible?

How does it work?

VARIUM is committed to supporting causes that promote sustainability, diversity, and social inclusion. How do we work? For example, wemeet with different organizations (Orphaned Children Association, LÖSEV, Sustainability Association) and carry out social responsibility projects according to their needs by contributing from corporate clients waste. Varium plays a role of a bridge which connect those who are in need with those who have opportunities to help. In this way, we manage both waste for corporate companies and help groups of people who are in need.

Meet Our Founder

I’m Natalia Sidal, founder of Varium. Diversity has always been part of my life. With a Russian mother, a German father, and a Turkish husband, I have been surrounded by different cultures, languages, and traditions from an early age. This upbringing shaped my understanding of the world and taught me the true value of equity, inclusion, and respect.

Over 15 years working at one of the world’s leading FMCG companies, I learned that collaboration across different nations, genders, and beliefs isn’t just possible — it’s powerful. Throughout my career, honesty, fairness, and justice have been the principles I have never compromised.

Becoming a mother changed everything. It made me see the world through new eyes — and deepened my responsibility to leave behind a cleaner, healthier, and safer planet for the next generations.

This is how Varium was born: to lead and nurture ideas that drive sustainability, celebrate diversity, and inspire real change.
